Product Spotlight – Ki Mobility’s lightweight Tsunami Wheelchair

Tsunami

Ki Mobility’s Tsunami wheelchair is an incredibly lightweight, rigid-frame high performance manual wheelchair. It pushes the open-frame design concept to new levels of performance, weight and adjustability.

Available in both Ti3AL/2.5V Titanium (Ti) and aerospace aluminum (AL), the Tsunami is 15 – 20 percent stiffer for better handling and a more responsive ride. The 1-3/8” Aluminum or 1-1/8” Titanium tubing in an open frame design provides a cool look that also helps lighten the frame. The Tsunami Ti weighs just 10.9 lbs. and the AL just 11.2 lbs. (Based on a 16” x 16” chair with standard components but without wheels.)

In this seminar, the overall seating process will be reviewed briefly.
The child, adult and aged populations will be discussed with regard to skeletal development & deteriation, structural deformities, motor & sensory development & deteriation, skin, and other issues pertinent to seating. The benefits of early, independent mobility will be discussed in the context of neuroplasticity. Ergonomic fit of a manual wheelchair for effective propulsion & reduction of injury will be discussed, as well as, certain frame characteristics. Appropriate application of Freedom Design products will be demonstrated in case studies throughout the seminar. Diagnoses such as, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, arthrogryposis, TBI, CVA, amputation, osteoporosis and arthritis will be addressed.
Lecture, case studies, research, and video will aide in the presentation.
